Quints in Fortnite:
5‑Player Squads Explained
The Quints playlist is the flagship game mode for the South Park collaboration, fundamentally breaking the traditional 4-player squad limit. For the first time in years, you can drop into Battle Royale with a team of five.
This 5-player squads Fortnite mode isn't just about adding an extra gun to the fight; it completely changes the meta. With 20 teams of 5 players (100 total), the lobby is denser, third-partying is more frequent, and team wipes are harder to secure. This guide covers the essential team rules, matchmaking quirks, and strategies you need to secure a Victory Royale in this chaotic South Park event mode.
Rules & Matchmaking
Matchmaking in the Quints playlist is designed to accommodate the larger team size. You can queue with a pre-made party of up to 5 friends. If your party is smaller, the "Fill" option will match you with random teammates to reach the full squad size.
Unlike standard Squads, the reboot mechanics are accelerated. Reboot Cards last longer before expiring (90 seconds), and Reboot Vans have a shorter cooldown (60 seconds) to keep the action moving. The loot pool is also adjusted: finding healing items like Cheesy Poofs is easier, ensuring 5 people can stay healthy.

Best Team Comps
3 Frontline, 2 Support. Three players push aggressively with shotguns while two hang back with ARs and Stick of Truth for storm control.
Defensive5 Flankers. Everyone spreads out slightly to surround enemy teams. High risk, but overwhelming if timed correctly.
Aggressive1 Bait, 4 Ambush. One player (wearing the Kenny skin/token) draws fire while the other 4 wait in a bush or building.
StrategicTactics for Battle Royale
In 5-player squads Fortnite, the "time to kill" (TTK) on a single target is almost instant if focus-fired. Communication is key. Call out a single target and delete them before moving to the next. Do not take 1v1 fights; you will almost always get traded.
Late game in Quints is extremely crowded. Building bases is less effective because 5 players can spam-fire walls down instantly. Natural cover and mobility items are superior. Prioritize rotating early to Cartmanland or high ground.
Limitations & Duration
Limited Time Mode Availability
The Quints playlist is strictly limited to the duration of the South Park event. It will be removed on February 5, 2026. Epic Games has not confirmed if it will return as a permanent mode, so play it while you can!
